THE ROLE As Senior Practice Adviser, you will be responsible for supporting the work of the Chief Practitioner and relevant others in ensuring appropriate structure is in place to support application of the new practice approach for statutory Child Protection. The role is primarily responsible for: providing expert and authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative options and solutions relevant to Child Protection practice in collaboration with relevant others, methodically identifying practice components contained within the Child Protection Manual relevant to the new practice approach that require revision, removal and/or replacement in collaboration with relevant others, ensuring the contents of the Child Protection Manual, as it relates to application of the Practice approach, is a cohesive, consistent and comprehensive source of information for statutory child protection practice in Victoria. Working across the Child Protection program with key stakeholders such as the Statewide Principal Practitioners, Principal Practice Advisers and Area Principal Practitioners on matters relating to the application of the Child Protection practice approach. The role operates within a dynamic environment that requires flexibility, the capacity to exercise sound judgement and the ability to take effective, timely action. ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE Provide leadership, and guidance and authoritative advice to the Chief Practitioner and others in relation to Child Protection practice, specifically in the context of the application of the new practice approach. Apply subject matter expertise to the review and revision of existing practice content and resources contained within the Child Protection Manual relevant to the new practice approach for the Child Protection workforce. In being responsible for preparing for the application of the new practice approach, ensure it is delivered in accordance with departmental objectives, relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.
