Our client is a large, complex organisation operating in a highly regulated, asset-intensive environment. They are undertaking significant technology and business transformation, with a strong focus on future readiness, and secure, scalable platforms across both IT and operational technology domains. The Principal Enterprise Architect is a senior strategic leadership role responsible for shaping, governing, and evolving enterprise architecture to ensure technology investments align with business strategy and deliver long-term value. Reporting to the Strategy Manager, this role provides enterprise-wide architectural authority across business, data, application, integration, cloud, and infrastructure domains. You will work closely with senior business and technology leaders, lead architecture governance forums, and play a critical role in major digital, cloud, and data transformation initiatives. This is a 12-month contract through to February 2027 , with flexibility to be based in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney . Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture blueprint aligned to business strategy and transformation objectives Translate business and technology dependencies into actionable enterprise, data, and solution architectures Establish, lead, and enforce enterprise architecture governance, including chairing architecture review and design authority forums Drive cost-efficient technology planning, balancing innovation with total cost of ownership (CapEx vs OpEx) Promote reuse of platforms, standards, and shared services to reduce duplication and cost Provide architectural leadership for cloud, data, analytics, automation, and digital initiatives Ensure cybersecurity, resilience, and regulatory compliance are embedded into all architectural designs Support portfolio and investment decision-making with clear visibility of value, risk, and cost Mentor and uplift enterprise and solution architects, strengthening architecture maturity across the organisation Key Capabilities Proven experience in a Principal or Enterprise Architect role within large, complex or regulated environments Strong enterprise architecture expertise across IT and OT domains, including IT/OT convergence Deep knowledge of architecture governance, standards, and design authority models Hands-on experience with cloud-native platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and modern data platforms Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience assessing architectural decisions against long-term value and risk Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including influencing senior executives Relevant qualifications and certifications such as TOGAF and cloud architecture certifications highly regarded If this sounds like you, click APPLY NOW or for more information, contact Sarah at sarah@techforcerecruitment.com.au.
