Overview: Provide specialised input into traffic and road safety matters for all road users Provide highly technical, specialised and professional input into traffic investigations, coordination of LATM schemes, requests to infrastructure upgrade and undertaking community and stakeholder consultation Engineering To support the Coordinator Traffic Services Liaise with relevant Local and State Government agencies and departments on complex and challenging local and regional transport and access issues Provide professional and technical advice to traffic and road safety matters Undertake feasibility studies and prepare preliminary designs and project brief Undertake public consultation of complex transport related projects Contribute to developing policies, procedures and guidelines for promoting a quality system to achieve effective and efficient operation of the Traffic Services Team Support and implement Road Safety and Active Transport projects and programmes Foster relationships with various stakeholders Project management of capital and operating projects related to transport and traffic Identify grant opportunities, prepare submission and administer grant funding Provide expert advice on temporary traffic management for roadworks and events Customer Service Foster, advocate and implement the Customer Service Commitment Through the delivery of outstanding service, establish a reputation of customer service excellence throughout the organisation Corporate Compliance Maintain safe and compliant work practices in accordance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, Risk Management, Contract Management, Project Management, Procurement and Recordkeeping Frameworks and all other relevant policies and procedures Identify and report on operational risk in accordance with the Risk Management Framework Demonstrate a commitment to WHS and the assessment/management of safety risk that is consistent with the WHS Roles and Responsibilities Framework Requirements: Skills and Knowledge Experience in application of Traffic Engineering/Road Safety Standards and Guidelines Experience in Road Safety Auditing, traffic data management and interpretation Knowledge of Road Traffic Act 1974 (WA) and Local Laws High level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage all members of a diverse community High level of written communication skills, including report writing skills Ability to work autonomously and independently Highly developed computer skills High level of research and analysis skills Knowledge of the principals of Travel Demand Management Knowledge of Australian Standards, Austroads and acts relevant to traffic, cycling and pedestrian planning Highly developed knowledge of LATM Measures Experience Significant experience in traffic or municipal engineering Experience in identifying, developing and delivering community programs Experience in preparing, submitting, and acquitting funding submissions Qualifications, Certifications and Licences Essential Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering/Traffic Engineering and relevant experience Current 'C' class driver's licence Police clearance Desirable Post graduate qualification in traffic/transport engineering Road Safety Auditor accreditation Transport modelling experience such as SIDRA and LinSig Scope of Position Works under limited supervision of the Coordinator Traffic Services Prioritises own work to ensure all tasks are performed within a satisfactory timeframes Exercises initiative and/or judgment within clearly established procedures and guidelines If you meet the above criteria, please APPLY now or call Kristy on 0407711509 for a confidential discussion.
