Sydney | Projects $5m-$30m | Hard Dollar A well-established Sydney-based commercial builder is looking to appoint an Estimator to strengthen its estimating function during a period of controlled growth. The business has a solid pipeline of work, several live projects on the books, and a clear strategy to focus on larger, higher-quality projects rather than high-volume small jobs. Upcoming works include major retail conversions and complex services upgrades across commercial, education, health and government sectors. The Opportunity This is a pricing-focused estimating role within a predominantly hard-dollar tendering environment , with projects typically ranging from $5m to $30m , and larger opportunities on the horizon. Estimators are responsible for cost planning and tender pricing only . Programme, methodology and bid presentation are handled by the delivery team and bid support, allowing you to focus on producing accurate, competitive tenders. The business is currently in a ramp-up phase , with next year forecast to be materially stronger as the estimating capability develops. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed estimates and tender submissions for commercial projects Review drawings, specifications and consultant documentation Coordinate subcontractor pricing and conduct trade comparisons Identify risks, opportunities and value-engineering options Support ECI and negotiated tenders where required Work closely with Project Managers and senior leadership Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers Contribute to improving estimating systems and processes About You Experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator in commercial construction Comfortable pricing hard-dollar tenders Exposure to new build and refurbishment projects Experience in education, government, health or similar sectors highly regarded Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail Confident communicator who works well with delivery teams Why This Role?
