We’re seeking a reliable and community‑minded Maintenance & Gardening Attendant to support the upkeep and presentation of our Retirement Living village. This hands-on role combines general maintenance, gardening, and regular interaction with residents. Location: Retirement Living Village, Goonellabah Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm A bit about your new role: Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally Minor repairs including leaking taps, light globe replacements, patching walls, touch‑up painting, flyscreen repairs, minor lock repairs, toilet seat replacements, and basic appliance troubleshooting Assist residents with small maintenance tasks as needed Lawn mowing, edging, mulching, planting, and general garden upkeep Ensure the village grounds are safe, tidy, and welcoming Drive the mini bus for resident shopping trips Set up and pack down for village events such as BBQs and morning teas Assist with arranging chairs, tables, and equipment for activities Other duties as directed by the Village Leader A bit about you: Demonstrated experience in gardening and maintenance role in aged care/retirement living or similar setting would be desirable but not essential Willing to learn about aged care and the principles guiding this sector Ability to interact with the residents on a day-to-day basis and have a genuine interest in their wellbeing What we offer: Non-profit salary packaging (up to $15,900 for Everyday Living Expenses & $2,650 Meal Entertainment allowance) Career and professional development opportunities A supportive team environment and stable employment We are proud to stand for our unique values: Do the Right Thing, Aim Higher, Care from the Heart, and Act as One team.
