Provision of quality Health, Recreation and Wellbeing services to prisoners Full-Time position, Rotating Roster (Mon-Sun) Competitive salary of approx. $83, 566 p.a., plus superannuation Position Overview The primary objective of the Health & Wellbeing Officer is to ensure, on a day-to-day basis, provision of quality services to prisoners. This position is responsible for the planning, coordination and provision of a structured program of cultural, recreational and leisure time activities for offenders. The role aims to promote meaningful engagement, health, and wellbeing through diverse, purposeful activities that foster positive connections and personal development for the men in our care. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will possess: Relevant industry Qualification in Fitness or Outdoor Education and Recreation or be working towards such. Demonstrated skills, experience and competence in leading and managing groups and individuals in recreational/fitness programs. Essential level of physical fitness and ability to lead and participate in outdoor activities and assist others. Experience in assisting in Risk Management and Risk Assessment Operating Principles. Qualification in First Aid Level 2, highly desirable. Sound knowledge of human behaviour and knowledge of assessment/evaluation methods. Well-developed interpersonal, communication, assertiveness and negotiation skills. Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team which involves direct contact with prisoners.
