The role will Transform data into trusted insights and decision-ready reporting by delivering high-quality dashboards, self-service semantic models, and analytics products. This role partners with stakeholders to define requirements, develop and maintain Tableau and Power BI reporting assets, and improves data quality, governance and automation across client and operational reporting. To be successful in this role, you will need: Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end BI solutions (requirements → data prep/model → dashboards → enablement) using Power BI. Strong working knowledge of Tableau for maintaining and enhancing existing content. Advanced Excel capability and strong numeracy; able to build and validate complex spreadsheets and reconciliations. Strong SQL skills and solid understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT and data warehousing fundamentals. Proficiency with DAX and Power Query; able to build complex measures and transformations. Working knowledge of Python for data analysis and automation (e.g., scripting data validation, transformation, and API-based extraction). Analytical, logical and critical thinking; high attention to detail and strong quality mindset. Strong communication skills—able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence outcomes. Organised and self-directed with proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines. Experience working with sensitive or confidential information and applying appropriate governance and security controls. Exposure to Agile/Scrum ways of working is beneficial. Key Accountabilities Design, develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports aligned to stakeholder and client requirements, with a primary focus on Microsoft Power BI and supporting Tableau where required. Create robust and scalable data models (datasets/semantic models) and reusable reporting components to support consistent metrics and self-service reporting. Integrate and transform data from multiple sources (e.g., Snowflake, SQL databases, APIs, Excel, SharePoint and line-of-business platforms) using appropriate ETL/ELT patterns. Gather and translate reporting requirements into clear technical specifications; validate outputs with stakeholders and iterate based on feedback. Develop and optimise DAX measures, calculated columns and Power Query M transformations; write and optimise SQL queries to support reporting needs. Apply performance optimisation and best-practice information design to ensure dashboards are fast, usable and accessible. Implement and maintain security and access controls (e.g., row-level security) to protect sensitive information and meet governance requirements. Sense-check data and investigate anomalies; improve data quality through validation rules, reconciliation and automated checks. Produce scheduled and ad-hoc reporting, including commentary and insights (trends, outliers, lead/lag indicators) that support operational and strategic decision-making. Document data models, metric definitions, data lineage assumptions, and report guides to support supportability and auditability. Provide training, enablement and support to business users to increase adoption and raise data literacy; promote best practices for data management and stewardship. Identify opportunities to automate data capture, reporting refresh and distribution, reducing manual effort and improving consistency.
