This opportunity sits with a leading Australian IT consultancy that is steadily expanding its footprint in the Canberra market. With a strong focus on Microsoft cloud technologies, secure digital platforms and enterprise transformation, the business works across a mix of federal government and large commercial clients. Their model centres on high-quality consulting, modern engineering practices and long-term client partnerships, rather than high-volume delivery. As their Canberra presence continues to grow, they are now looking to appoint a permanent Senior Technical Business Analyst to support upcoming engagements. The Opportunity This is a client-facing consulting role where you will work across a range of digital and business application projects, primarily aligned to the Microsoft ecosystem. Rather than being tied to a single internal program, you will engage across different client environments, helping shape solutions from early discovery through to delivery. You will join a small, capable Canberra-based consulting team, working closely with solution architects, developers and project managers. The focus is on practical outcomes, clear communication and building long-term client relationships. The Role As a Senior Technical Business Analyst, you will act as the bridge between stakeholders and technical delivery teams, translating business needs into clear, structured and testable requirements. You will: Lead requirements workshops with business and technical stakeholders Capture and document business and technical requirements Produce functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria Work closely with developers and consultants through delivery. You will have visibility across the full project lifecycle, from initial discovery through to implementation and user adoption. The Ideal Person You are an experienced Senior Business Analyst who is comfortable operating in client-facing consulting environments and working across technical delivery teams. You have experience in the Defence and federal government settings. You will bring: Around five or more years’ experience as a Business Analyst on IT projects Experience across Microsoft 365, Power Platform or similar ecosystems Strong requirements elicitation and stakeholder engagement skills Experience across both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments Strong communication skills and a client-facing mindset You will be an Australian citizen and need to hold a minimum of an NV1.
