Workshop Mechanic - Earthmoving Equipment Dandenong, VIC 40 HRS P/WEEK | FT PERM ROLE | WORK LIFE BALANCE JOB STABILITY POSITIVE SUPPORTIVE TEAM & COMPANY CULTURE WORKSHOP BASED - EARTHMOVING PLANT & EQUIPMENT About the role You'll be based out of our Melbourne Distribution Centre based in Dandenong, getting hands-on with a broad range of earthmoving and compaction equipment, including excavators, loaders, dump trucks and rollers. Your day-to-day will include: Repairing, servicing and maintaining earthmoving and compaction equipment to standards Diagnosing faults across hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and diesel systems Conducting scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs Completing inspections, defect reports and service documentation accurately Identifying wear and tear before it becomes a breakdown Working closely with the Service Manager and wider team to prioritise jobs and minimise downtime Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with WHS requirements Keeping the workshop clean, organised and running efficiently What we're looking for Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle / Mobile Plant / Diesel Mechanic Solid experience working on earthmoving and compaction equipment Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills Comfortable working independently in a workshop environment A safety-first mindset (non-negotiable) Why you'll want this role Workshop-based role Variety of equipment Supportive culture offering training and career development Stable, long-term opportunity with a reputable hire business Well-equipped workshop and proper systems Why You'll Love Working with Kennards Hire Kennards Hire has been family-owned since 1948, and that family mindset still drives how we work today.
