About the Team: The University Library is part of the Tertiary Education Portfolio which has overall responsibility for all ofVU’s University and TAFE programs, including oversight of higher education academic colleges and the VU First Year College and VU Block Model. Work closely with the Manager, Digital Services, other Digital Services Officers and colleagues across the Library. About the Role: The Digital Services Officer supports the Library by managing and maintaining its systems and platforms. This role ensures smooth operation of library services and access to resources. It involves implementing new technologies, maintaining system integrations, and ensuring users can easily discover and access library content. Additionally, the role involves managing system connections and adapting scripts to automate processes, making the library’s digital operations more efficient. Position Key Duties Coordinate and provide technical support and advice for a range of key Library systems and associated processes. Maintain and support integrations between relevant systems including adapting scripts and queries along with code development to automate information exchange and other processes Contribute to user analysis of system interfaces including usability testing to guide and influence design considerations Participate and lead specific project implementations in order to contribute to the introduction of library technologies, online publishing platforms, discovery layer applications, e-research and eLearning initiatives Provide technical support and training to Library staff and patrons by troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving technical issues in relation to the Library’s electronic services Liaise with system vendors, suppliers and agents as well as University colleagues in relation to support, and maintenance of relevant platforms, hosting arrangements and applications Regularly maintain and develop documentation of procedures and technical instructions to ensure that accurate information is disseminated, and work practices followed Provide ad hoc training to library colleagues in system end user operations and interfaces as well as in relation to newly implemented technologies Salary: Full-time continuing role Employment Type: HEP 6, $91,796 - $99,361 17% superannuation Hours: 36.75 (1.0 FTE) hours per week Location: St Albans Campus, but may be required to travel to other campuses For a detailed overview of the role’s duties and responsibilities, please refer to the Position Description – Digital Services Officer About You: You are a problem-solver who enjoys making digital systems run smoothly and efficiently.
