With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourneâs North is fast becoming the place to be.   Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Category Managers â Strategic Sourcing to join the Procurement & Supply Chain division.  Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneâs rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our six main campuses:  Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.  About the Role:  This role requires a commercially astute procurement professional who can lead strategic sourcing programs, develop mature category strategies, and negotiate high-value commercial arrangements that support Northern Healthâs clinical and operational service delivery.  This role is responsible for developing and executing category strategies, leading complex sourcing activities, driving commercial value, and enhancing sustainability, probity, and supply chain resilience in line with sector obligations and organisational priorities.  To be successful in this role you will have:  Experience in strategic sourcing, category management or procurement within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. Strong commercial, analytical and negotiation capability with a focus on value, risk, and total cost of ownership. Proven ability to lead end-to-end sourcing activities including market engagement, evaluation, governance and contract execution. Understanding of procurement compliance requirements, including probity, legislation, modern slavery, ESG and related governance frameworks. Highly effective stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills across clinical, operational and executive groups. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear business cases, recommendations and reports. Contribution to continuous improvement and capability uplift across procurement processes and systems.
