The Waste Avoidance Project Officer is responsible for the planning and implementation of general and targeted waste and resource recovery programs and projects. The role will support City of Whittlesea residents and businesses to be well educated and informed on waste minimisation, contamination reduction and resource recovery, through a range of digital and published media, Council’s Bin Inspection Program and in-person community education events. The role responds to strategic and statutory planning referrals to ensure current and future residents and businesses have access to high quality waste and resource recovery services. The Waste Avoidance Project Officer is responsible for investigating and resolving complaints relating to the daily waste and resource recovery operations. About you You will have demonstrated knowledge of waste diversion, strategic and statutory planning processes that relate to waste and recovery services and waste education. You will have the ability to communicate clearly and respectufully with a range of stakeholders and solve problems relating to the waste service.
