The Waste Diversions Officer (Recycling) is responsible for the planning and implementation of general and targeted waste diversion programs and projects targeted at reducing contamination in the recycling bin. The role will support City of Whittlesea residents and businesses to be well educated and informed on waste minimisation, contamination reduction and resource recovery, through a range of digital and published media, Council’s Bin Inspection Program and in-person community education events. The role will investigate opportunities for diversion improvements and innovation of Council’s waste services and works alongside councils’ contractors to develop and promote Council’s diversion education programs to increase community participation and reduce contamination. The Waste Diversions Officer (Recycling) is responsible for investigating and resolving complaints relating to the daily waste and resource recovery operations. About you You will have demonstrated knowledge of waste diversion, recovery services and waste education in a local government setting with ability to communicate clearly and respectufully with a range of stakeholders and solve problems relating to the waste service.
