Own finance delivery team and support to influence future business decisions. Role Overview Reporting into the Managing Director, this Financial Controller will own the end-to-end finance function, driving accuracy, efficiency, and valuable insights. Partnering with the MD, operations, and wider team the candidate will work on streamlining processes, implementing best practise standards, and building board and ELT confidence. This role will give you the opportunity to business partner and make strategic choices for the company. Responsibilities Take full responsibility for managing and optimising the entire accounting function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. Manage a small finance team Delivery of the month-end, including cashflow, invoicing and debtors' management. Optimise and refine board reporting to ensure financial reports are accurate, insightful, and delivered on time. Continuously review and streamline financial workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall financial operations. Drive financial insights and strategic initiatives that add commercial value to the business once core finance processes are at an acceptable standard. Work closely with the Managing Director and operations team to provide financial guidance and support strategic decision-making. Identify opportunities for automation and implement improved financial systems to increase efficiency and scalability. Candidate Profile You are highly motivated and confident in your thinking, wanting to be in a critical role driving performance for the business. You are experienced in process improvement with proven ability to bring best practices in accounting to life. You have 5 years’ experience as a finance manager or company accountant in a SME organisation. With exceptional communication skills that you leverage in shaping positive working relationships, you are flexible in working through challenges. Your leadership and stakeholder engagement skills will ensure your success.
