Our focus is the promotion of musculoskeletal health and physical activity across the lifespan. We have active collaborations with a wide range of multidisciplinary clinicians, researchers, and policy makers in Australia and internationally. Our research is divided into three main themes: back pain and musculoskeletal conditions; physical activity, ageing and disability; and evidence and equity. We are seeking a Research Fellow to support Professor Cathie Sherrington on the project “ Optimising mobility for older adults with multiple chronic conditions in Brazil: implementation of a co-designed evidence-based digital solution ”. The incumbent will focus on adapting the TOP-UP exercise program for older adults, for use in primary health services in Brazil. Your key responsibilities will be to: contribute to the co-design, cultural adaptation and localisation of an evidence‑based mobility and falls‑prevention program for older adults in Brazil collaborate with partners in Brazil, including Universidade Cidade de São Paulo, IPADS and public health managers, to integrate the adapted program into the Unified Health System (SUS) support the development of training content, delivery strategies, and instructional materials for physiotherapists, physical educators and community facilitators coordinate and contribute to the creation of Portuguese‑language exercise videos, program instructions, and implementation resources assist in designing and implementing a hybrid trial assessing both effectiveness and implementation outcomes, including mobility, reach, fidelity, dose, adoption, feasibility, acceptability and cost collect, manage and analyse quantitative and qualitative data relating to physical activity, ageing, disability and chronic disease contribute to translational research activities that enable integration into real‑world healthcare pathways and primary care settings prepare research manuscripts, conference presentations, progress reports and materials for stakeholder and policy audiences contribute to competitive research grant applications related to mobility, falls prevention, implementation science or digital health contribute to supervising students and providing informal mentoring within the research team undertake administrative tasks and participate in school/faculty operational activities as required support a positive, collaborative and inclusive workplace culture. About you PhD with research focused on physiotherapy-led telehealth, falls prevention or aged care service delivery experience leading or coordinating randomised controlled trials involving older adults, mobility outcomes or digital intervention delivery with specific knowledge and experience of the TOP-UP exercise program for older adults demonstrated impact in translating research into policy or practice, including contributions to national or international falls prevention guidelines or aged care reform experience securing competitive research funding and cultivating strong collaborations with aged care providers, digital partners, government agencies or physiotherapy bodies professional expertise in gerontological physiotherapy and clinical experience supporting older adults with mobility limitations or chronic conditions leadership experience within professional organisations, government advisory bodies or clinical committees influencing health, aged care or digital health policy a strong publication record in areas such as falls prevention, aging and telephysiotherapy and e-Health experience supervising Honours, Masters or PhD students and mentoring early‑career clinicians or researchers experience working on international collaborations or implementation projects across diverse cultural and health system contexts strong communication skills with experience engaging clinical, community, consumer and policy audiences.
