Reporting directly to the Manager Health, Injury Management, Security & Training, you'll be at the forefront of protecting our people and assets in a fast-paced industrial environment. The Role Your critical role will involve: Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the Security team, ensuring effective 24/7 coverage of site operations. You'll manage rosters, shift swaps, and task allocation, ensuring seamless handovers and consistent communication across shifts. Mentor, coach, and develop team members, supporting their competency development and career growth. You'll conduct performance conversations, provide constructive feedback, and ensure all Security Officers adhere strictly to procedures, policies, and site rules. Perform all essential Security Officer duties, including rigorous site access control, proactive security patrols, vigilant CCTV monitoring, and rapid response to alarms and emergencies. Act as a vital team lead during emergency situations and critical incidents, coordinating team actions until relieved by senior site management. You'll provide immediate first response to incidents, delivering primary first aid care, and supporting follow-up injury management. Ensure consistent compliance with site security, safety, and biosecurity requirements at all times. You'll actively promote a positive safety culture, proactively manage hazards, and swiftly report any incidents or security concerns. Coordinate and oversee the accurate completion of all required logs, reports, and registers (e.g., incident reports, alarm responses). You will also lead investigations relating to security breaches or safety concerns. Contribute to the development and improvement of business plans, work instructions, and site security protocols, identifying operational gaps and suggesting practical solutions. Essential Skills & Experience You'll Bring: Demonstrated ability to lead a small operational team in a high-risk environment. Strong situational awareness, keen decision-making, and excellent problem-solving abilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to mentor and support others. Recent and practical experience providing first aid in an industrial or operational setting, and experience coordinating emergency responses and working effectively with external emergency services. High level of literacy, numeracy, and computer literacy (MS Office and security systems). Required Qualifications: Certificate II or III Security Operations HLTAID003 Provide First Aid and annual refresher (HLT001). Current C Class motor driver’s license. Certification for collection of pathology specimens (Alcohol and Drugs – oral/urine). Annual National Police Clearance and clearance for a corporate firearm license. Willingness to operate a firearm. High level of literacy, numeracy, and computer literacy (MS Office and security systems). Desirable: Occupational first aid or Medic/Pre-hospital Care Qualification Emergency Response Qualifications or Training (e.g., Certificate II PUA Emergency Response or RII Mines Rescue) with experience in Fire Fighting and leading Emergency Teams. Prior experience leading a security or emergency services team, preferably in a high-risk or industrial environment.
