The Role We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Packaging Technologist to join our Marketing & Growth Team. Based in Pakenham, this role requires regular project-based travel between production sites and head office and exposure to baked, frozen and chilled packaging environments. Reporting to the Senior Packaging Manager, you will lead the development, optimisation and implementation of innovative, sustainable and commercially viable packaging solutions across the Patties Foods portfolio. Key Responsibilities include: Lead and deliver Packaging NPD and optimisation projects, including artwork approval Introduce innovative packaging designs and formats aligned to market trends Develop and manage packaging specifications and documentation systems Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Innovation, Operations, Engineering, QA, Procurement and Sales Manage technical relationships with packaging material and equipment suppliers Lead and support packaging trials across multiple manufacturing sites Identify cost, efficiency and PPV improvement opportunities Drive sustainability initiatives and support the National Packaging Covenant Plan Ensure compliance with regulatory, industry and Patties Foods standards The Person This role will suit an experienced Senior Packaging Technologist with strong FMCG exposure and the credibility to operate confidently across technical, commercial and operational stakeholders in a multi-site manufacturing environment. You will ideally bring: Demonstrated experience in packaging development, optimisation and innovation within FMCG or food manufacturing Strong technical knowledge of packaging materials, formats and manufacturing processes across baked, frozen and chilled products Proven capability leading cross-functional packaging NPD projects, including artwork approval and site trials Experience managing supplier relationships and delivering cost, efficiency and PPV improvements A commercial mindset with the ability to balance performance, sustainability, quality and cost A proactive, resilient approach and comfort working across multiple sites and competing priorities What we offer you At Patties Food Group, our people are central to our success.
