The Opportunity This is a 10-month labour hire contract (with potential extension) to join a large federal government department through HorizonOne. In this role, you will support financial management and executive decision-making while gaining exposure to complex projects and strategic initiatives. The Role Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supporting Directors in managing BAU and project budgets, including tracking spend and reporting variances Preparing regular financial status reports and insights for the Executive team Providing financial analysis to support decision-making and ensure cost control Maintaining effective relationships with Project Managers, Finance Business Partners, and Reporting teams Assisting in developing and improving budget management and reporting processes Ensuring compliance with organisational financial policies and governance requirements The Ideal Person You will be a finance professional with 5 years’ experience in the federal government, with expertise in financial reporting, month-end cycles, budget management, and accruals. You describe yourself as proactive, detail-oriented, and able to provide accurate financial insights to support decision-making in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’re likely to be working in the APS currently and bring a strong understanding of government financial processes. To be eligible, you must be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
