Engagement Advisor opportunity Approx. $65-70 per hour plus super dependent on experience Assignment duration is up to 4 months. Early January start Melbourne Eastern suburbs About the role Government agency requires an experienced Engagement Advisor to join them on a 4-months contract based in Melbourne Eastern suburbs. As the Engagement Advisor you will support the development and delivery of stakeholder engagement and communications strategies, and community relations activities for a large infrastructure project. You will work with diverse stakeholders in a complex and demanding multi-disciplinary environment within tight timeframes. Key Accountabilities Support the development and implementation of communications and stakeholder engagement strategies to guide external engagement and support for the project through its various stages. Contribute to the development of public information about the project that is clear, timely and accessible for stakeholders. Assist with the establishment and maintenance of relationships with community and stakeholder groups including local businesses, key institutions and local councils. Research and write high-quality, original communication material for fact sheets, publications, newsletters (internal and external), advertising copy, brochures, project website and other content Respond to public enquiries in a timely and appropriate manner in accordance with established protocols. Liaise with contractors to review communications materials, liaise with internal and external stakeholders to manage issues to ensure the project’s reputation is maintained and enhanced. Key Selection Criteria The skills and experience you will need to demonstrate include: Proven track record of effective stakeholder engagement or community engagement, preferably within complex infrastructure projects and/or government environment. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders within government, private sector organisations and members of the community. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to produce high quality materials such as newsletters, fact sheets, briefing notes, correspondence etc. Excellent project management skills including a proven ability to manage the planning, coordination and delivery of communications activities including community information sessions, launches, letterbox drops etc. Advanced verbal communication skills and the ability to influence and form effective relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds. Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Community Engagement or a related discipline or relevant working experience would be well regarded. Experience working in government and/or on significant and complex infrastructure projects.
