As a Uniting Volunteer Activity Assistant, you’ll play a key role in enriching the lives of residents by assisting with a variety of social, creative, and recreational activities. Your support will help foster a sense of community, wellbeing, and fun within our aged care home.What You’ll Be DoingYou will work alongside staff and fellow volunteers to organise and deliver engaging activities, such as:Bingo – Call out numbers and celebrate wins!Music – Share your love for tunes, whether through singing, playing an instrument, or simply enjoying music together.Knitting & Crafts – Help residents get creative with hands-on projects.Card & Board Games – Encourage friendly competition and laughter.We’d also love to hear about your interests and talents*Activities are driven by resident interest, which differs from home to home, the above is just a sample.Other key tasks include:Setting up and packing down activity spacesEncouraging and supporting residents to participateHelping to create a warm and inclusive atmosphereYour time and enthusiasm can make a real difference—join us in bringing smiles and meaningful moments to our residents!Volunteer characteristics we are looking for:Aligned to Uniting’s values: Compassionate, Respectful, Imaginative, BoldCommitment: Days and times for volunteering are flexible however roles which build relationships with people require a minimum commitment of 6-months.
