Emergency Services Officer Our client is an established mining company focused on the production, development, and exploration of precious and base metals in Western Australia. As the site moves through a key ramp-up phase, they are seeking two qualified Emergency Services Officers to join the team on an initial 3-month contract. This is a dual-function position, offering a roughly 50/50 split between Emergency Response and Safety activities. You will play a critical role in strengthening Emergency Response Team (ERT) capability while also providing hands-on safety support across site operations. About the Role As an Emergency Services Officer, you will be actively involved in both emergency preparedness and frontline safety. This role suits someone who thrives in dynamic environments, can work autonomously, and enjoys contributing to the establishment and uplift of systems on a developing site. Key responsibilities include: Supporting the establishment, training, and ongoing readiness of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) Assisting with emergency response planning, drills, simulations, and preparedness activities Providing operational emergency response capability when required Undertaking day-to-day safety duties, including: Field safety interactions and visible safety leadership Workplace inspections and audits Hazard identification, risk assessment, and control implementation Working closely with operational and leadership teams during the site ramp-up phase Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with site and legislative requirements Roster & Reporting 8/6 or 15/13 rosters Day shift only, with on-call requirements Reporting to the Emergency Response Coordinator and Safety Coordinator Key Requirements To be successful in this role, you will have: Certificate III in Mines Emergency Response (essential) BG4 / UGSAR qualification (essential) Certificate IV in WHS/OHS (desirable but not mandatory) A strong operational emergency response background within mining or heavy industry Sound working knowledge of safety systems, procedures, and hazard management The ability to work independently and adapt to a developing site environment Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboration Please Note: This role is open to applicants currently residing in Western Australia with full Australian working rights.
