Access to ongoing professional development and learning opportunities The Position We are seeking a Senior Case Manager to provide practice leadership and oversee the case management at Samaritan House. Samaritan House operates within the Society’s Special Works program and provides 24/7 crisis accommodation and case management for single men aged 18 years and over. The program takes a holistic, person-centred, and trauma-informed approach supporting individuals to make informed and independent decisions. This is achieved through the provision of relevant information and referrals, advocacy, the development of positive and respectful relationships, and the strengthening of life skills to build individual capacity and support sustainable tenancy outcomes. This role is based onsite at Samaritan House in Hackett, ACT and is responsible for overseeing case management practice, data collection, and the quality of support provided to clients. Working closely with the Program Coordinator, the successful applicant will support Duty Managers, Case Managers, and volunteers to deliver best practice, client-led case management. In this role, you’ll lead by example, supporting and coaching case management staff, guiding reflective practice and case reviews, and stepping in when situations are complex. You will work alongside the Program Coordinator to make sure our person-centred, trauma-informed case management truly supports people to build stability, strengthen life skills, and move towards long-term housing outcomes. The working hours for this position is from 10:30am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday. About You To be successful in this role, you will view it as more than just a job and bring strong leadership capability, practice expertise, and a genuine commitment to supporting people experiencing homelessness and disadvantages. You will demonstrate: Proven experience in homelessness or community services A strong understanding of mental health and substance use issues The ability to lead, coach, and support staff and volunteers to deliver best practice Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a range of people High levels of resilience, adaptability, and confidence working in complex environments A Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Services, Welfare, or a related field is highly desirable, along with significant relevant experience in a senior case management role. Successful applicants must be willing to undertake a National Police Check upon commencement and either hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card. A current driver’s licence is required, and applicants must hold or be willing to obtain a First Aid certificate within three months of commencement.
