About the role This role contributes to the success of the City by assisting and monitoring the collection crew to ensure the City of Hobart’s waste, recycling and litter bins are collected safely, efficiently and on time. Role accountabilities include: Undertaking Waste Driver Side Loader Collections/Labourer duties. Providing high-quality customer service and maintaining strong communication with employees, contractors and the community. Ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently and with environmental awareness. Training new and existing employees in safe operation and maintenance of plant and equipment. Acting as a field leader to support efficient utilisation of staff, vehicles and plant resources. Demonstrating leadership aligned with the City of Hobart Capability Framework. You bring strong knowledge of kerbside collection services, a commitment to safety, and the ability to mentor team members to achieve high standards. You communicate clearly, work collaboratively and take pride in delivering reliable services to the Hobart community. You will also have: Certificate III in Waste Management. Current Medium Rigid Driver Licence. Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Employment). Moderate computer skills and the ability to complete required reporting.
