Sydney or Melbourne Salary: $97,401 – $115,820 15.4% superannuation Permanent role (full time or part time) Applications close at 11:59pm AEDT on Thursday 12 February 2026 About the team The Wholesale Markets team sits within ASIC's Market Conduct group, which oversees conduct in Australia's exchange and OTC markets, investment banks, OTC product issuers and wholesale private capital fund managers. The team undertakes surveillance activities, manages conduct risks and contributes to the development of market conduct standards. By identifying and disrupting misconduct, raising standards and maintaining a level playing field between market participants, the team helps uphold integrity and confidence in the wholesale financial system. The role As an Analyst you will: Assist or conduct intelligence gathering, surveillance activities and project work, including onsite surveillances and desk‑based reviews. Analyse technical, policy and compliance issues relating to OTC markets and wholesale funds, identifying emerging risks, issues and trends. Develop and maintain supervisory relationships with public and private market participants, other regulators, industry bodies and internal stakeholders. Prepare reports, papers and submissions on a broad range of technical and policy matters. Participate in multi‑skilled project teams, sharing knowledge and contributing to timely delivery of surveillance outcomes. Undertake research and provide internal advice on regulatory issues. Maintain documentation to support planning and delivery of surveillance activities. About you You will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in commerce, law, finance, economics or a related discipline, and bring experience analysing complex business or policy issues to support evidence‑based decisions. You can interpret and apply financial services legislation, including the Corporations Act and ASIC Act, and are comfortable using data, reporting systems and analytical tools to support surveillance and compliance activities. You demonstrate strong communication skills and can present complex technical information clearly to varied audiences. You will also bring sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to identify emerging risks, trends and technical issues in OTC markets and wholesale funds. You work effectively in multi‑skilled project teams, maintain professional and collaborative relationships with stakeholders and manage competing priorities while contributing to surveillance planning and delivery. Foundational knowledge of OTC markets or wholesale funds is desirable, as is the ability to quickly develop subject‑matter expertise in a fast‑paced regulatory environment.
