We’re seeking a Senior Manager, People Operations, Safety & Workplace Relations , based in Brisbane to lead a responsible, safe and supportive workplace — balancing strong governance with empathy, sound judgement and practical people solutions. This is a role for a hands-on, trusted People leader who thrives in a regulated environment and genuinely cares about creating positive employee and customer outcomes. You’ll make an impact by: Lead safe, compliant and people-focused operations •Oversee people operations, safety and workplace relations to meet legal, regulatory and Enterprise Agreement obligations •Ensure people processes are reliable, consistent and deliver a positive employee experience •Support leaders with pragmatic advice on people risk, employee relations and safety Safety, Health & Wellbeing •Lead the Bank’s safety and wellbeing framework, including psychosocial risk •Ensure SHW compliance, reporting and continuous improvement •Partner with leaders to manage customer aggression, safety risks and wellbeing initiatives •Strengthen a safety culture aligned to our values and risk appetite Workplace Relations •Provide guidance on employee relations matters, performance, conduct and investigations •Support organisational change with a fair, balanced and people-centred approach •Oversee Enterprise Agreement interpretation and compliance •Manage union engagement and support enterprise bargaining Governance, Risk & Compliance •Maintain strong people governance, policies and frameworks •Support audits, regulatory reviews and executive reporting •Ensure people practices align to legal, conduct and risk requirements Leadership & Contribution •Lead and develop a small specialist team •Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders •Contribute to People & Culture strategy and service improvement •Role model warm, inclusive and accountable leadership Do things differently with us To succeed in this role, you will have: •Experience leading people operations, safety or workplace relations in a regulated environment •Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, WHS and Enterprise Agreements •Confidence managing complex people matters with sound judgement and empathy •A pragmatic, calm and collaborative leadership style •Experience in banking, financial services or similar highly regulated sectors (preferred) Why Great Southern Bank?
