About the Role This role is of limited duration and is being offered on a maximum term basis because it is linked to government funding relating to the Queensland Audit of Surgical Mortality (QASM), it is expected this role will be 12 months in duration. In this role you will play an important part in helping maintain and improve a statewide peer review process that examines surgical mortality and identifies opportunities to improve clinical care. Reporting to the Project Manager, QASM, you will provide a mix of administrative, analytical and stakeholder support. You will work closely with clinical leaders, hospital staff and government partners, contributing to reports, meetings and education activities informed by audit data. Key responsibilities include: Supporting the day-to-day activities of the surgical mortality audit Communicating with surgeons, hospital staff and other stakeholders Engaging with Clinical Directors regarding audit activity and data Preparing scientific and analytical reports using QASM databases Assisting with the development of webinars, seminars and other education activities based on emerging audit findings Contributing to the ongoing improvement of QASM processes Providing administrative support for committee meetings, including agendas, papers and follow-up actions About the team QASM is a collaboration between the Queensland Government Department of Health and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, working alongside specialist colleges and anaesthetic mortality committees. The team is committed to improving patient outcomes through respectful peer review, high-quality data and strong professional relationships. You will be part of a small, dedicated team that values accuracy, collaboration and clear communication, and works closely with clinical experts across Queensland. About you You are organised, detail-focused and comfortable working with complex written and data-based information. You enjoy working with a range of stakeholders and can communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal settings. You will bring: A BSc (Hons) or equivalent health-related degree Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines Excellent attention to detail and the ability to review, interpret and clearly summarise complex material Well-developed written communication skills, including experience preparing reports or formal correspondence Confidence engaging with professional and clinical stakeholders A positive, professional approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Experience working with health data, audits, research or committee processes will be highly regarded.
