This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, strategic and hands-on leader to design, lead and embed a cohesive learning and development strategy that supports organisational capability, workforce sustainability and future skills needs. With strong senior stakeholder engagement skills and a sound understanding of workforce development frameworks, you will provide strategic direction and governance across all learning initiatives. You will oversee the delivery and continuous improvement of existing programs, while developing new pathways that support early careers, leadership capability, diversity and inclusion, and industry engagement. Your ability to build strong relationships will ensure learning initiatives are aligned to organisational priorities, social inclusion objectives and long-term workforce planning. Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of the organisation’s Learning and Development strategy, aligned to business growth, workforce planning and regulatory requirements. Provide governance and oversight of all learning and development programs to ensure consistency, quality and compliance across the business. Oversee the design and continuous improvement of learning frameworks, pathways and standards, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory expectations. Drive the delivery, governance and ongoing implementation of the organisation’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Identify current and future learning and development needs through workforce analysis, risk assessment and engagement with leaders and operational teams. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives using data, feedback and business outcomes to drive continuous improvement. Ensure audit readiness and compliance with company, client, contractual and regulatory training obligations. Lead relationships with external providers, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and funding bodies, including oversight of funding strategy and value optimisation. Essential Skills and Experience This is a newly created role, and we are looking for someone who can bring extensive knowledge, initiative and experience in leading learning and development functions within a complex organisation. You will also demonstrate: Proven experience managing projects from planning through to execution. Strong analytical capability, including experience using MS Excel and basic formulas. Experience preparing and presenting reports for a range of stakeholders. Knowledge of policies, CSQ requirements and Learning Management Systems (such as Cloud Assess or similar) will be highly regarded. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar senior Learning and Development role. Demonstrated leadership and people management capability. Strong ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining focus on key outcomes. Highly developed skills in negotiating, evaluating and administering contracts. A collaborative approach with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. High levels of computer literacy, including experience with MS Excel and ERP systems. Excellent planning, organising and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead, motivate and influence others. What’s next?
