Learn more about living in the Clarence Valley here What you need to know permanent full time - 76 hours per fortnight the package: $66,227 to $78,977 plus superannuation per annum location: South Grafton and Townsend – two positions available access to fitness passport 9 day fortnight About the role Council currently has two Senior Field Operator (Construction) positions available to oversee road, drainage and general construction and maintenance activities. One position is based in Townsend working on capital projects, and the other at Rushforth Road Works Depot, South Grafton, focusing on contracted works with TfNSW on the Gwydir Highway and Summerland Way (TfNSW experience highly regarded). In this role you will plan, allocate and manage resources (plant, materials and personnel), supervise staff and contractors, and ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to legislative and quality standards. You will undertake inspections and investigations, respond to public requests and complaints, maintain accurate project documentation, and provide input into future works programs and improvements. Support during emergency response events is also required. About you: Preferably a minimum 2–3 years’ experience supervising crews and machinery, strong knowledge of WHS, environmental and quality requirements, and the ability to read and interpret construction plans Experience managing 5–6 staff and contractors Sound reporting and communication skills The skills and abilities to meet the essential criteria listed in the position description (see supporting documents) If you are a motivated supervisor looking to contribute to high-quality community infrastructure, we encourage you to apply.
