The Client & You: Established 30 years ago, a growing organisation that designs special-purpose machinery for several sectors, including the petrochemical, refrigeration, maritime, commercial properties, hospitals, schools, and more. An exciting opportunity where no 2 projects are generally the same. You will find yourself responsible for end-to-end engineering design, not just individual components, but complete buildable systems, integrated structural, mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems. Key responsibilities: The work is practical and varied, working closely with the R&D department. Design from initial concept through to completion. Mechanical design of P&IDs, pumps, motors, compressors, centrifugal style condensers, reciprocating compressors, pipework & more. Structural design and detailing of steel frames, walkways, stairs, platforms & more. Mechatronic and electrical integrated skid rooms, pneumatic, hydraulic design, design of integrated drives, motors, subsystems, linear motion systems & more. 3D design & drafting and design with Inventor and other software to ISO 9001 standards. Strong focus on continuous improvement and product development. Project Coordination assisting with studies and overall business requirements. Liaising with clients and sub-contractors daily, weekly, and monthly. Material estimation, control of BOMs. Report and present project analysis within design reviews. Attend site trips as and when required. This role suits a degree-educated Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineer who enjoys seeing what they design actually get built, delivered, and commissioned. Engineers with a strong design background, practical mindset, and experience in industrial or engineered systems environments will thrive.
