We are partnering with a leading national infrastructure provider to find a Strategic Asset Manager for a critical contract . This is not a standard maintenance role; it is a specific mandate to architect the future of a massive, nationally distributed portfolio. The business has identified a critical need for a dedicated expert to drive this planning phase, allowing Divisional Heads and Executives to remain focused on operations while you build and operationalise the framework. This framework will cover asset lifecycle, engineering outcomes, and long-term investment planning. Role Summary You will be brought in to do the "heavy lifting" on strategy and execution. Your primary objective is to drive the planning and embedding of the Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) , ensuring it is not just written, but operationalised across the business. Key Responsibilities: Drive the Strategy: Lead the development and embedding of the Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP). Partner with Leadership: Collaborate closely Executives and Divisional Heads to extract requirements and translate their commercial goals into technical asset strategy. Establish Governance: Create and govern the Asset Classification Hierarchy to standardise asset data and drive executive reporting. Lifecycle Engineering: Lead the review of asset design life with internal and external stakeholders and establish the end-of-life decision-making process. Commercial Insight: Translate technical engineering data into commercial insights, giving the Executive team the clarity they need to make investment decisions. About You You are a qualified Civil or Structural Engineer who has transitioned into strategic portfolio management. You understand that "maintenance" is just one part of the puzzle, and that the real value lies in Lifecycle Modelling, Data Taxonomy, and Strategic Planning (SAMP). You likely come from a background in Energy, Utilities, Rail, Water, or Defence sectors where asset integrity and reliability are non-negotiable. We are looking for: Engineering Qualification: Civil or Structural Engineer. Project Delivery Mindset: You are comfortable stepping into an 18-month contract with a clear deliverable: to leave the business with a fully functioning asset framework. Strategic Experience: Proven experience managing large-scale, distributed infrastructure portfolios. You are comfortable moving away from reactive maintenance to strategic planning. Stakeholder Leadership: The ability to influence executive stakeholders and work autonomously to deliver outcomes for the leadership team.
