IEPro are working with a well-regarded civil contractor to hire an experienced Project Engineer to deliver road and transport infrastructure projects in Far North Queensland. This opportunity sits within a business known for delivering high-quality roadworks and transport projects across regional Queensland, supported by experienced leadership, practical systems, and a strong local presence. The role offers flexibility for candidates based in Cairns or those seeking a FIFO arrangement from South East Queensland, making it well suited to engineers looking for career progression. The Opportunity As Project Engineer, you will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of road infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, quality, program, and cost objectives are achieved. You will work closely with Project Managers, Supervisors, subcontractors, and clients to deliver projects in line with TMR and council requirements. This role suits an engineer who enjoys hands-on delivery, working in regional environments, and managing multiple work fronts. The Role In this role, you will: Support end-to-end delivery of road and transport infrastructure projects Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site activities Manage RFIs, technical queries, and project documentation Assist with cost control, progress claims, and variations Monitor safety, quality, and environmental compliance Support programming, reporting, and project forecasting Contribute to project handover and close-out activities About You To succeed, you will bring: Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or related discipline Proven experience as a Project Engineer on road or transport projects Exposure to TMR specifications and delivery standards Strong understanding of construction sequencing and site coordination Ability to work effectively in regional or FIFO environments Clear communication and stakeholder management skills A proactive and solutions-focused approach Commitment to safety and quality outcomes The Benefits Cairns-based role with FIFO option from South East Queensland A salary package up to $165k super vehicle 20% uplift depending on your experience Strong pipeline of road and transport infrastructure projects Supportive leadership and experienced project teams Long-term career development opportunities in North Queensland Please note: Applications will only be considered from Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents with local experience.
