Lead risk management for a major RBA redevelopment Provide high‑visibility insights to senior executive governance forums Play an important part shaping the future of our iconic Australian institution About the role The Line 1 Risk Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of the 65 Martin Place redevelopment project. The position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of both delivery risks (risks to achieve milestones and objectives ) and delivered risks (risks inherent in the final asset post-completion). The role supports proactive identi fication , a ssessment and manag ement of risks throughout demolition, design, construction, fit out and handover . This includes designing and implementing key controls, monitoring effectiveness, coordinating remedial and mitigation actions and ensuring compliance with the RBA’s Risk and Compliance Management Framework and relevant Australian industry standards. Objectives Develop and maintain a holistic view of delivery and delivered risks across all phases of the project. Embed risk management practices into project governance and decision-making processes. Foster a strong risk-aware culture within the project team that aligns with RBA values and promotes accountability. Contribute to strategic direction and leadership of the 65MP project, sharing accountability for deliverables and outcomes. Provide expert advice and deliver risk management and control monitoring services that meet internal, industry, and legal compliance obligations. Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities Collaborate with the 65MP project team to identify and assess risks across all phases, including demolition, design, construction, fit out and commissioning . Tailor and enhance risk management frameworks and key controls to address both delivery and delivered risks. Monitor control effectiveness and escalate issues where remediation is . Direct and review the cost of mitigation actions, including budget and actuals ( from project RAIDD and 65MP programme ), ensuring the project’ contingency is appropriate , and cost controls applied. Coordinate remedial activities and ensure timely resolution of risk-related issues. Provide risk insights and reporting to senior stakeholders, including Steering Committees and governance forums. Ensure risk management and obligations management are aligned to contractual requirements. Provide assurance over Service Provider deliverables, ensuring quality and compliance with terms and conditions. Support compliance with property law, construction regulations, and organisational risk policies. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate and deliver risk mitigation strategies and contractual protections. Operate within the three lines of accountability model to support transparency and effective challenge. As a Project Risk Manager, you must be able to demonstrate : Minimum 10 years of proven expertise in property development and major construction projects , including demolition, planning and design, and construction of large-scale office buildings for long-term ownership. Proven ability to develop and implement risk management plans and procedures on large-scale projects. Experience of designing and p roject c ontrols in estimate/cost and schedule on large scale construction or infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices on complex projects . Excellent analytical, organisational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Proven ability to produce visual and insightful risk reports for senior stakeholders. Experience operating within a three lines of accountability model . Experience in large and complex p roject management. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field. Relevant tertiary qualifications in risk, compliance, or related discipline. Professional certifications in risk management (e.g., ISO 31000, PMI-RMP) desirable. PMP or equivalent project management certification desirable.
