SIMPEC have been awarded the main procurement and construction contract for the residue filtration stage 2 project at Alcoa's Pinjarra Alumina Refinery, which will involve delivering infrastructure and services to increase processing capacity. We are currently seeking an Employee Relations Advisor to commence early April. This will be a site-based role which will see you supporting the project across ER, IR and HR matters as a trusted business partner to the project team. The Role Proactively provide advice to operational site/project managers and supervisors on matters relating to the correct application and interpretation of enterprise agreements, Awards, internal policies and relevant employment legislation, in consultation with Employee and Industrial Relations Manager, as required. Provide training to employees with respect to employee relations and HR matters including the delivery of EIR/HR inductions to employees and maintenance of training attendance records. Support the Employee and Industrial Relations Manager and HR team with respect to Policy implementation, on-site recruitment activities, performance reviews, disciplinary processes, grievance processes, dispute processes, and investigation processes (conducting investigations if/where required). Coordinate and oversee right of entry union requests/visits including the escorting of Union officials exercising right of entries on the Project, drafting and retention of right of entry reports and liaising with Occupier representative regarding visits. On site HR support and the maintenance of HR records and employee information. Identify current and future industrial relations risks/opportunities on Project that may impact operational activities and work with management to develop strategies to mitigate risks and leverage opportunities. Assist in the case management of employee matters to ensure compliance with applicable industrial instruments, policies, and legislative provisions. Build strong and trusted relationships with both employees and management, being visible as on-site initial contact point for Employee Relations. About You Degree qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or Commerce. Experience in providing reliable employee relations advice to Projects, and on-site/on Project experience highly regarded. Strong working knowledge of Australia’s Industrial Relations framework and the interplay of the Fair Work Act 2009, Modern Awards and workplace instruments. Trained and experienced in conducting workplace investigations in line with best practice and Policy. Demonstrated ability to support the resolution of conflict and interpersonal issues professionally and in line with Company Policy and values. Experience in interfacing with trade unions and providing escort for right of entry visits highly regarded. Strong working knowledge of the potential commercial impacts of IR advice and management on site, as it pertains to contracts with Clients, employees and SIMPEC subcontractors.
