Our clinics in Hervey Bay are currently seeking a Medical Receptionist to join the team, this is a Casual position, working across our clinics in Maryborough, St Stephens Hospital and Fraser Coast, you will be available to cover annual leave and unplanned leave, between the hours of 7am-8pm Monday to Friday with optional weekend work available. Role Overview : As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your responsibilities will include: Patient Interaction : Greet patients professionally and courteously. Assist patients with appointment scheduling. Explain intake forms to new patients. Administrative Tasks: Manage medical records confidentially and efficiently. Process patient payments (cash, Eftpos, direct billing). Invoice Medicare, Private Health Funds, DVA and Workcover. Handle internal emails and inquiries. Maintain a tidy reception waiting area. Collaboration : Work autonomously and as part of a team. Communicate with referring doctors and hospital staff courteously. Confidentiality : Maintain patient personal and financial information confidentiality. Qualifications and Skills : Excellent telephone manner for handling internal inquiries and appointments. Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues Intermediate computer skills Desired Traits: Personable with excellent communication skills Calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
