With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourneâs North is fast becoming the place to be.   Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced OHS Consultant (Manual Handling) to join the OHS & Wellbeing Team.  Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneâs rapidly growing outer north.  Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.  About the Role: The OHS Consultant (Manual Handling) supports Northern Health to ensure our employees, patients, volunteers and visitors are provided with a safe and healthy workplace. The key focus of this role is to lead Northern Healthâs response to the prevention of manual handling injuries, deliver and develop training and supporting an improved safety culture.  This role is responsible for: Provide safety advice and support on a wide range of manual handling, ergonomic and safety processes and practices and ensure consistent OH&S management activity across the NH campuses Proactively work with internal and external stakeholders to foster a positive working relationship and promote safe working environments Assist in the development, implementation and review of OHS systems Conduct manual handling risk assessments and audits Analysis and assurance of OHS and manual handling data Support organisational capability building (manual handling) Conduct incident reviews, investigations and encourage a culture of reporting, incident review and continuous improvement Support OHS Consultation, including formal and informal arrangements Coordinate case management with the injury management team  To be successful in this role you will have: 2-3 years OHS advisory experience Experience in manual handling, ergonomics or human movement Demonstrated experience undertaking manual handling investigation, risk assessments and reviews Understanding of applicable legislation, regulations, compliance codes, and safety practice Analytical, problem solving and interpersonal communication skills Technical proficiency in preparing and presenting professional OHS reports  Next Steps . . .  If this opportunity sounds like the next step in your career, then we would love to hear from you.
