As the Assistant Director, Strategy and Performance you will play a critical role in supporting the Agency's strategic objectives by managing key corporate governance functions. You will be responsible for managing the performance framework, corporate and operational planning, risk management, compliance, internal audit coordination, integrity/fraud control activities as well as secretariat to the Audit Committee. The Strategy and Performance Section provides critical governance and assurance functions to support the organisation's strategic objectives and compliance obligations. The section is responsible for developing and maintaining frameworks, plans, and processes that enable effective performance monitoring, risk management, and integrity oversight. The key duties of the position include Your key responsibilities in this role are: Performance Management: Develop, monitor, and report on organisational performance measures aligned to strategic priorities and ensure accurate and timely performance reporting for internal and external stakeholders. Corporate and Operational Planning: Coordinate the development and implementation of the corporate plan and operational plans and ensure the planning processes are aligned with Whole of Australian Government requirements and organisational objectives. Risk and Compliance: Maintain and enhance the enterprise risk management framework and monitor compliance with legislative, regulatory, and policy obligations. Internal Audit and Assurance: Coordinate internal audit activities and liaise with auditors to ensure timely delivery of audit programs and track and report on implementation of audit recommendations. Integrity and Fraud Control: Manage fraud and integrity frameworks, including prevention, detection, and response strategies. Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement: Lead a small team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support governance and performance outcomes. Qualifications/Experience Preferred Relevant tertiary qualifications or significant experience in business, public administration, risk management or related fields. Experience in a similar role within the APS or a comparable governance environment.
