Position Purpose The Fibreglasser is responsible for carrying out high-quality fibreglass repairs, panel replacement, and surface finishing on trailers and related components. This role supports the broader repair team by ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the company’s quality standards, contributing to the professional presentation and structural integrity of customer equipment. Primary Objectives Perform fibreglass repairs, refinishing, and surface preparation to required specifications. Replace, repair, and bond fibreglass panels and extrusions as required. Carry out gel coat repairs and colour matching where necessary. Ensure all repair work is completed safely and in accordance with company and OEM standards. Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant work area. Support workshop productivity by working efficiently and assisting other trades when required. Key Responsibilities Identify damage and determine appropriate repair methods. Carry out laminating, cutting, bonding, sanding, and finishing tasks. Apply and repair gel coats to restore original appearance and protection. Replace fibreglass extrusions, panels, and structural components as needed. Ensure all tools and materials are maintained in good working order. Adhere to all safety, environmental, and PPE requirements. Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Leading Hands, and other trades to coordinate repairs. Skills and Experience Proven experience in fibreglass repair, finishing, or panel manufacturing. Experience with replacing extrusions and performing gel coat repairs is highly advantageous. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to read and interpret job cards and repair instructions. Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with WHS standards and safe handling of chemicals and materials.
