Role: Communications Officer Hourly Rate: $65 Contract Length: Initial contract until 08/07/26 Location: Parramatta We're partnering with a large, complex public-sector organisation delivering a once-in-a-generation infrastructure and redevelopment program that will have a lasting impact on community services. This role sits within a high-performing communications and engagement team and plays a key part in shaping how major projects are communicated to staff, stakeholders, consumers, and the broader community. The Role As a Communications Officer, you'll lead strategic communications and engagement activities across a major capital works program. You'll be responsible for developing high-quality content, advising senior stakeholders, and ensuring clear, consistent messaging throughout delivery, change, and commissioning phases. A strong focus of the role is consumer and community engagement, requiring someone confident working with diverse stakeholders and facilitating consultation in sensitive, high-profile environments. Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver strategic communications and engagement plans for large-scale projects Produce high-quality content for internal and external channels (digital, intranet, web, social, publications, staff forums) Lead consumer and community engagement activities, including advisory groups and workshops Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, delivery partners, and external stakeholders Support media activity and provide input into briefs and executive communications Coordinate internal events and stakeholder engagement initiatives Provide trusted communications advice on complex and evolving project issues Ensure brand integrity and consistency across all communications outputs About You Proven experience in a communications and engagement role (infrastructure or public-sector experience highly regarded) Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic communications campaigns Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with community groups and senior leaders Experience managing internal communications programs and publications Confidence working autonomously, managing competing priorities, and meeting tight deadlines Experience in consumer and community engagement programs (highly desirable) Strong organisational skills and attention to detail If this sounds like YOU , then please APPLY today!
