THE OPPORTUNITY This role is ideal for an Accountant or Graduate / Junior Accountant with at least 1–3 years’ experience in an Australian CA/CPA firm who is looking to develop their technical skills and gain exposure to a diverse client base. You will work closely with experienced accountants and partners, receive hands-on training, and gradually take on more responsibility as your skills develop. This position offers a clear pathway for progression within the firm for candidates who demonstrate capability and commitment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the preparation of financial statements, income tax returns, and BAS for individuals, companies, partnerships, and trusts Support senior accountants with tax compliance and advisory work Maintain accurate accounting records and reconciliations Liaise with clients to collect information and respond to basic queries Use accounting software to process and review client data Ensure work is completed accurately and in accordance with Australian tax legislation Participate in ongoing training and professional development EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED At least 2 years’ experience in tax or business services within an Australian CA/CPA firm Currently studying toward, or recently completed, CA or CPA qualifications Basic to intermediate knowledge of Australian tax compliance Experience with accounting software (Xero experience highly regarded) Strong attention to detail and time management skills Willingness to learn and take feedback onboard Good written and verbal communication skills THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE Is eager to develop a career in public practice accounting Enjoys working as part of a collaborative team while building confidence in client interactions Values structured training, mentorship, and long-term career progression Is attracted to the lifestyle benefits and affordability of North Queensland while working in a professional firm Please note: This job is based in Australia therefore, only candidates who are permanent residents or citizens of Australia or NZ will be considered.
