What you'll contribute to As the Senior Financial Accountant, Reporting to the Financial Accounting & Reporting Manager, this pivotal role is responsible for managing the month-end close process, half-yearly and annual closing procedures, APRA reporting, and preparing timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial reports for the board, senior leadership, the parent company in Japan, and regulatory bodies (including APRA and ASIC) on both scheduled and ad-hoc bases How you'll make an impact Your success in this role is reinforced by your exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and strong technical knowledge. Your ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders further ensures the success and impact of this position Your responsibilities include, but not limited to Complete allocated BAU accounting tasks, including month-end close, GL Reconciliation, and analytical review of monthly financial accounts. Will play a lead role in completing semi-annual and annual financial accounts, including coordinating with other business areas and external auditors Research complex accounting issues, prepare detailed analyses, and assess the implications of changes to accounting policies and standards. Be a trusted advisor for the business on TFA product accounting Help maintain integrity of core systems by ensuring adequate controls are in place Ensure SOX controls are always observed Foster a culture to ensure staff to work closely with business Advocate and encourage staff to continually look to enhance process through change and automation Your attributes CA/CPA qualified At least 5 years of external Audit experience working in a Big 4 CA Firm with exposure to financial services audit or working as a Senior Financial accountant within the financial services industry. Experience in financial instruments accounting Experience working closely with various AASB standards, primarily AASB 9, AASB 7, and AASB 101. Advanced/intermediate Excel and MS Word skills, including the ability to build pivots, V-lookups and complex formulas within Excel. Working knowledge of SAP and SQL preferred.
