About Us Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission. Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'. About the Role Working within assigned priority areas, the Judicial Education Lead designs, develops and delivers high quality educational programs and content for Victorian judicial officers in a range of formats and delivery modes. Drawing on practical legal experience and sophisticated legal and sociolegal research, analysis and communication skills, the Lead produces education programs tailored to an expert judicial audience, that are legally accurate, and responsive to the contemporary issues faced by courts and tribunals. Informed by legal experience, thorough research, and an understanding of adult learning principles, the Lead identifies relevant subject-matter experts, articulates clear and relevant learning outcomes and develops engaging, high-quality educational materials. They are also committed to continuous improvement through effective evaluation techniques. With the judicial audience always front of mind, the Judicial Education Lead works collaboratively across the organisation and in close partnership with judicial steering committees and other stakeholders to plan, manage and execute the delivery of high-quality education programs and resources to agreed timelines. They ensure that all activities are practical, reliable and of enduring value to judicial officers. About You You bring a strong background in the law or legal practice, education and/or the courts environment, with practical experience that enables you to understand judicial work and decision-making in context. You have advanced legal research and written communication skills, with demonstrated expertise in producing clear content for expert audiences. A skilled communicator, you have the proven ability to build effective professional relationships and influence others. You work well in a small, professional team where projects are shaped collaboratively, while also being self-driven and comfortable working autonomously. You set high standards for your work, and you are organised, intellectually curious, resourceful, and details focused. Drawing on an understanding of adult learning principles, you are able to work across diverse areas of law and practice, partnering with subject matter experts to design and refine educational content that aligns with the desired learning outcomes and meets the expectations of an expert judicial audience. You understand the challenges facing the Victorian judiciary and remain actively engaged with developments in the law, professional skills, social context and broader issues relevant to courts and tribunals.
