This role contributes to complex analytical projects that support strategic and operational planning across WAPHA’s commissioned and co‑commissioned services. Working closely with the Team Leader – Primary Care Analytics , you will apply advanced analytical methodologies, lead data‑driven investigations, and provide meaningful insights that support high‑level decision‑making, policy direction and service planning across the WA primary health care landscape. Employment Type: 2 Fulltime positions with a Maximum term contract for 12 months (with a possibility of extension) Location: WAPHA Head Office, Level 2, 1 Hood Street, Subiaco (Hybrid role) Salary: Band 6 ($110k-$124k Plus 12% Superannuation & Salary Packaging) Key tasks and responsibilities include but not limited to: Develop and refine data collection methodologies to enhance accuracy and reliability. Cleanse, manipulate, process, analyse and visualise data using both code-based and graphical software tools. Support analytical projects involving health service activity, performance, morbidity, and population data. Design and implement innovative statistical methodologies for commissioned reports Produce high-quality reports, presentations, and data visualisations to inform decision-making, with an emphasis on visualisation to tell a clear story. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support effective and efficient commissioning. Provide expert advice on data analysis tools and techniques. Monitor and evaluate data systems, making recommendations for improvements. Develop and deliver training programs to improve data literacy among staff and stakeholders. Represent WAPHA in service redesign forums and stakeholder engagements. Ensure compliance with data governance standards and best practices in data management. About you To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following selection criteria: Essential experience and education Tertiary degree in epidemiology, statistical or mathematical science, data science, data analytics, computer science, public health research, or a related discipline with a strong quantitative foundation. Extensive experience in data preparation, manipulation, analysis and interpretation. Excellent analytical and pragmatic problem‑solving skills. Proficient use of statistical analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Azure Synapse, Power BI or equivalent). Demonstrated ability to interpret population, activity, performance and outcome data. Strong interpersonal, communication and report‑writing skills. Effective time and project management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines. Flexibility with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team. Experience with project management, quality improvement or process‑improvement methodologies.
