THE ROLE The Senior Accounts Payable Officer is a driven and diligent individual who is focused on accurate and efficient data entry and ensuring a high level of service is consistently provided to suppliers and internal stakeholders. They will work within a team to support the Transactional Manager in the day-to-day running of the Accounts Payable department. They will support the reviewing and processing of stock and overhead invoices, managing supplier queries, preparing payment schedules and maintaining ledger accuracy & integrity. This individual will also support the Transactional Manager in process improvements and projects aimed at bringing in overall efficiencies in Accounts Payable. The role will require someone with an analytical mindset, a team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating confidence, attention to detail and a 'can-do' attitude. The key focus areas of the role include: Review and post registered supplier invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with ATO and company requirements Monitor and record credit card expense claims to ensure compliance with company credit card policy Analysis of invoices and expense reports for accuracy and eligibility for payment; ensure compliance with company policy and accurate posting Investigate and follow up complex discrepancies or issues Prepare and process regular payment runs as scheduled Generate payments in multiple currencies Ensure the accuracy of all payment related detail, suppliers, due dates and values Monitor monthly supplier statement reconciliations and ensure any outstanding invoice issues are resolved in a timely manner Set up suppliers ensuring accuracy of detail recoded Ledger review and allocations including investigation of variances and unusual activity Monitor and manage queries via the AP inbox Proactively seek opportunities for efficiency. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience: Experience working in a full function Accounts Payable role (5-10 years) Ability to input and process invoices quickly and accurately Excellent level of computer literacy especially on Microsoft Office packages Experience with foreign suppliers and currencies desired Understanding of accounting principles Internal and external customer service Excellent communication skills Problem solving & decision making abilities Self-directed and self sufficient Team player Strong attention to detail Strong planning and organisation skills Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure Someone who wants to grow and succeed with us - we will help you thrive!
