What you'll do Provide assistance to scientific and technical laboratory staff by operating and maintaining the instruments, equipment and facilities of the laboratory. Actively support specimen processing performing specimen reception, registration, storage and disposal including data entry. Provide assistance to medical, scientific and technical laboratory staff performing pathology specimen dissection. Provide assistance to scientific and technical laboratory staff when they are performing their technical duties in the laboratory. Documentation and registration of pathology specimens. Assist in the maintenance of chemicals and reagents by monitoring stock levels and preparing reagents under the supervision of scientific and technical staff. Maintain archival material by performing filing and retrieval of slides, blocks and reports. Participate in a rotational roster that has morning shifts that commence as early as 06:00am, day shifts that commence at 9.30am and evening shifts that commence early afternoon and finish at 11pm. About you We are searching for someone who has: Experience in, or a desire and ability to rapidly acquire knowledge in Anatomical Pathology laboratory duties. Ability to manually handle consumables / stock reagents, including but not limited to bulk hazardous goods. Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively and accurately as part of a team. Proficiency in the use of laboratory information systems or the ability to rapidly acquire these skills. Demonstrated ability to provide operational support to a medium-sized Anatomical Pathology team, including the allocation of resources. Demonstrated ability to work in a high through put environment still maintaining a high attention to detail. Why work with us?
