About the Role As the Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the science department by ensuring the efficient operation of laboratories and resources. This role is essential in fostering a safe and engaging environment for students to explore and excel in science education. Key responsibilities include: Preparing and maintaining laboratory materials, equipment, and chemical solutions for practical teaching use. Ensuring the safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and laboratory waste in compliance with departmental guidelines. Supporting science teaching staff with demonstrations, equipment use, and STEM initiatives to enhance student engagement. Maintaining accurate records of inventory, stock, and laboratory protocols, and managing the science budget. Organising and prioritising daily tasks to support student learning outcomes effectively. This role would suit an organised and proactive individual with a passion for science and education, who thrives in a collaborative and dynamic environment. About You The following traits would be beneficial: Experience in laboratory operations, including handling and preparing chemical solutions.
