THE CLIENT Our client is a key delivery partner on the iconic Snowy Hydro 2.0 project based in the Snowy Mountains region. Their expertise plays a critical role in advancing renewable energy, power, and transport infrastructure across the ANZ region THE ROLE We are seeking an experienced Industrial Relations (IR) Specialist to support the delivery of the Snowy 2.0 Project. Reporting to the IR Manager, this role plays a pivotal part in implementing and supporting the organisation’s industrial relations strategy on site. You will provide timely, accurate advice and coaching to leaders and site teams on industrial relations matters, including interpretation of Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and relevant legislation. The role will also be responsible for managing Right of Entry , engaging with unions, and auditing subcontractors to ensure compliance with legislative and contractual IR obligations. LOCATION & ROSTER This is a site-based role within Kosciuszko National Park , operating on a 14/7 FIFO or DIDO roster , working 12-hour day shifts . RESPONSIBILITIES Provide accurate, timely industrial relations advice and coaching to leaders and colleagues • Interpret and apply Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and relevant IR legislation • Manage and coordinate Right of Entry in line with legislative requirements • Liaise effectively with union representatives and manage union interactions on site • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, the Client, and subcontractors • Monitor organisational compliance with industrial relations legislation • Conduct regular subcontractor audits to ensure IR compliance with legislative and contractual obligations • Maintain accurate records and reporting related to IR activities, including Right of Entry and industrial action • Support proactive risk management and early intervention on IR matters ABOUT YOU Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or a related discipline • 5 years’ experience in an IR-focused or employee relations role • Experience working in large-scale blue-collar environments such as construction, mining, or major infrastructure projects • Strong working knowledge of Australian industrial relations legislation • High attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex legislative requirements • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and coach leaders • Confident communicator with experience advising senior management PROJECT INFORMATION Snowy 2.0 is the next generation of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme. Once complete, the project will deliver 2,000 megawatts of dispatchable, on-demand renewable power and approximately 350,000 megawatt-hours of large-scale energy storage to the Australian National Electricity Market.
