The Senior Manager of Radio leads the label’s national radio promotion strategy across all formats including CHR, alternative and community radio and DAB. They are responsible for breaking records at radio, maintaining top-level relationships with programmers and network managers, directing radio campaigns for priority artists, using a range of analytics tools to assist decision-making, driving first party data campaigns, and managing a team of format/region-based radio members. This is a senior role that directly impacts chart performance, artist exposure, and commercial success of both domestic and international artists. What you'll do: National Radio Strategy & Planning • Develop and execute national radio promotion strategy across all formats. • Identify priority singles and plan release timelines in collaboration with A&R and marketing. • Use analytics (Luminate/ Radiomonitor, Shazam, streaming trend data etc) to drive decision-making. • Build multi-week airplay strategies aligned with overall artist campaigns. Radio Partner Relationships • Act as the label’s primary executive liaison to Program Directors, Music Directors etc. • Maintain strong relationships with major radio groups (including ARN, NOVA, SCA, HIT, ABC and community networks). • Pitch priority releases for playlist additions, rotation upgrades, and on-air support. • Assist publicity team in coordination of artist interviews, station visits, network activations, performance sessions, event appearances. • Work with radio partners to implement first party data campaigns. Campaign Execution & Delivery • Oversee the servicing of tracks to radio, including radio edits, clean versions, liners, artist IDs, and promotional assets. • Monitor campaign performance daily and adjust tactics as needed. • Secure specialty show placements, premiere opportunities and promotional partnerships. • Ensure promotional messaging is consistent across radio, digital, and marketing channels. • Develop and drive creative solutions and concepts to meet the challenges of the changing radio landscape. Team Leadership & Management • Lead, coach, and manage a team. • Allocate resources across campaigns based on priority, market opportunity, and competitive landscape. • Encourage cohesive communication between radio staff, marketing, A&R, artists, and management. Reporting & Insights • Provide clear weekly reporting on playlist additions, rotations, spins, and chart positions. • Deliver insight-driven feedback to internal teams and artist management. • Track competitors’ releases and radio strategies to inform the label’s promotional approach. Cross-Department Collaboration • Work closely with: A&R (identify radio-friendly records, provide market feedback) Marketing (align campaign narratives and timing) Digital/Streaming (coordinate radio pushes with DSP strategies) Publicity (schedule on-air interviews and station press) Represent the radio department at internal and external planning meetings and executive meetings. Who you are: • 5 years’ experience in radio commercial promotion, programming, or major label. • Strong, proven network of radio programmers across multiple formats. • Demonstrated success in breaking records at radio. • Expert understanding of radio programming decisions, playlist cycles, and chart methodology. • Proficiency with Luminate, Radiomonitor, and analytics dashboards. • Exceptional negotiation, pitching, and interpersonal skills. • Strong leadership and team-management capability. Preferred: • Experience at a major label or major radio group. • Strong understanding of the wider commercial music ecosystem (DSPs, social, marketing). • Comfort working in fast-paced, high-stakes campaign environments. Ability to manage multiple artists and deadlines simultaneously.
