The Rio Tinto Children's Diabetes Centre (The Centre), based at The Kids Research Institute Australia, is a research centre that aims to improve the lives of children and young adults living with diabetes by bringing together research, education, and clinical care. The Centre’s mission is to undertake research that is translated into effective clinical management, ensuring patients receive the best evidence-based care available. We're seeking a collaborative and technically skilled professional to join our Data team. This role combines business systems expertise, stakeholder engagement and data management to support important health research initiatives. As a Business Analyst - Health Data , you will be playing a crucial part in a large project to develop infrastructure that will enable data integration, customised data access and application of advanced data analytics and AI. You will work with consumers, researchers and healthcare professionals to ensure that solutions meet user group needs. Key responsibilities: Engage with end-users to determine functional requirements and create user stories. Create test plans and conduct product testing. Oversee the acquisition, curation and provision of datasets. Implement standardised data collection and management protocols. Visualise and interpret data to support research outcomes. Conveniently located within Perth Children’s Hospital in Nedlands, this 0.8-1.0 FTE opportunity will be offered for an initial 12 months with the possibility of extension. About You The successful candidate will hold an undergraduate degree in information technology, computer science or a related field. You will have experience with both business analysis and data management. Along with this, you will demonstrate: Strong SQL skills with demonstrated ability to perform complex data manipulation. Experience working with databases and data systems. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate technical language to non-technical audiences. Experience as a Business Analyst including eliciting requirements and developing user stories. Knowledge of health systems or experience working in a healthcare organisation is highly advantageous.
