The Duties: The Piggery Manager will oversee a 850 Sow production unit within the South Burnett region. Reporting to the CEO, responsibilities will be diverse to include the management of: Animal husbandry and welfare through all stages of pig production. Breeding, farrowing, weaning and grow-out operations. Feed and nutrition. Animal health. Environment and biosecurity. Hygiene and facility maintenance. Data and compliance. Piggery staff Continuous improvement. What You Will Need: The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate: Proven knowledge and experience with pig breeding, farrowing, weaning and grow-out systems. Competence in feed management and animal nutrition. A strong understanding of animal health programmes and medications. Experience in leading and motivating a team. Excellent record keeping skills with attention to detail. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Physical fitness with a willingness to work hands-on when required. Availability for early morning starts and weekend work rosters. A proven commitment to safe working practices. A current Australian driver licence. Relevant rights to work in Australia. Although not essential, preference will be shown to applicants also able to offer any of the following: Qualifications / certificates in Agriculture, Animal Science or other related fields. Team management and leadership experience. Relevant industry training & experience in animal vaccinations, artificial insemination, mating, genetics, breeding management and pregnancy testing.
