We need you to have high level experience in the provision of quality and timely legal services in administrative law and/or criminal law matters, the ability to apply rigorous process, risk evaluation, and logic to solve difficult and complex legal problems as well as find effective solutions to achieve organisational goals. Moreover, you should possess the leadership and integrity expected of a senior professional officer which is necessary to manage sensitive and complex issues and retain the credibility and trust of the organisation. Your day to day will be ensuring the Legal Services Unit supports the Board through the provision of legal advice and representation in relation to Parole Board Application and Suspension matters, including No Body No Parole, Restricted Prisoner and Judicial Review matters, which may involve contentious issues, often of a complex and sensitive nature. You will be preparing timely advice, reports, correspondence and briefing notes on legal issues including statutory interpretation in relation to Board activities. Further, you will be providing support, guidance and development to legal officers while promoting and nurturing a team culture with good morale and diversity.
